Linear actuators can be used in various ways. For example as an alternative of air of hydraulic systems. It is cleaner and more controllable than pneumatic or hydraulic systems. Also are they excellent in combination with battery powered systems, such is used in the car industry.

LoadMaster 80 is a rodless actuator that comes in two versions for either vertical or horizontal use. The LoadMaster consists of an extruded anodized aluminum profile, which incorporates a motor and gearbox assembly providing movement to the carriage via either a ball or lead screw drive. LoadMaster fits into all kinds of medical, handicap or rehabilitation equipment or anywhere where a load needs to be moved vertically or horizontally.

Linear actuators can be used in various ways. The mentioned ones are suitable in systems where CAN-field bus is available or can be implemented. The use of a bus-system is practical when more then 10 actuators are used in one machine and motion control is necessary.

The CANopen protocol is a communication protocol that communicates at the Controller Area Network (CAN). CAN is an industrial network and it is well known for its high flexible configuration capabilities. CAN is also known for its high reliability rate and it is insensible for interference. This is reached by using 5 levels of detecting and signaling errors.

  • PM-DC-Motor, 4Q servo-amplifier and built-in closed-loop positioning control are integrated into one single device.

Linear actuators - systems

ERIKS also delivers complete linear systems. This means motor (any type) connected to a piston, timing-belt or screw-lead linear unit, with a suitable controller and, if desirable, application software.

We can distinguish two systems:

  • Standard complete solutions with DC-supply voltage up to 80W from IAI
  • Customized complete solutions

If standard solutions does not fit your requirements, we can design and select components out of our wide range of standard products combined with inhouse engineering capabilities. This way we can design economical combinations for small and medium sized series. We can design linear solutions with all motor types such as DC motors, Steppers, AC-Servo and A-Synchronous motors.

IAI - Linear actuatorsLinear actuators - IAI systems

ERIKS has for "Pick and Place", assembly an coordinated linear motion with point to point or circular interpolation capabilities. Also economical 1-axe solutions are visible with this system. IAI gives a good price quality ration, because there is no mechanical engineering required to build a system, which costs a lot for one time applications and small series. Also you will gain a lot of time because of the user friendly software interface. The "head" to handle the products is of course customer specific and must be design by the customer himself.
